My {failed} attempt at a stylish photo session

There are some amazing fashion, style, and blogs out there. A site will get my attention when the layout is neat, easy to read and most importantly, has beautiful images.

Over here on Very Busy Mamá, I do what I can with my iPhone 4s. It's a great camera but I have to get close up and every day I practice what I believe to be a new from of exercise called "PhotoYogaLates". I get into all sorts of crazy positions to get that right shot. Most of the time I take the pictures of myself, even the ones of my feet like when I did the feature on socks.

But SERIOUSLY, please someone tell me, do you all have a designated photographer to go out and take pictures of you? I mean, the Mr. is my official paparazzo, but I have to ask him sweetly and forget taking him outside. No way. Not having it. He takes a few shots and says "there should be a few good ones in there" and hands me back my phone. I can't give too many instructions and I think he's kind of embarrassed.

I tried recruiting my mamá, but she isn't too steady on the iPhone, the images come out blurry and she thinks I can photoshop everything. Errrr, no.

My sister is rarely around but when she is, I get her to take pictures with her more professional camera and we go all out. Although, again, never outdoors because it tends to be at night. And then it takes a few days to actually get her to send the images to me. Fail.

So you see, I'm in a little bit of a photography bind.

But today; today I saw hope. It was a gorgeous day here in Washington DC. The Mr. and I were taking Little M to the aquarium and we were going to walk around the city enjoying the 70 degrees and sun. It was the perfect day to take pictures by the world's most famous sights. I even had a few ideas in mind...outside the Old Post Office Pavilion under the arc. By the Department of Justice near the White House and on the mall with the Capital Building behind us. Simple, right?

The battery on my phone was low. The Mr.didn't really want to stop every few minutes to take pictures, I got passive aggressive which made him passive aggressive and Little M wouldn't stay put. Photo session over before it began.

We did managed to get one. Here is the ONLY shot of the day.

I cropped it so that you can see the expression on my face. Says it all really.

Despite my failed attempts, I will still tell you what I am wearing as I had planned:

Skinny Jeans: Primark
Flats: Clarks
Striped top: Marks and Spencer
Bag: Target
Glasses: Ray-Ban
Mood: BAD

Is the relationship with your photographer better than mine?
